Walking tour Charco Azul Guayedra is a very easy trek suitable for beginners, for families with children or as a relaxing day during your walking holidays. First you will arrive to the village of El Risco on the western coast of Gran Canaria. You will start the walk from the center of the village.

The way is mostly flat, easy and sunny. The stream that brings water in the form of a cascade into the pond usually flows all year round. However in the warm summer months it may happen that there is not enough water to refresh yourself in the pond.

Charco Azul means “Blue Pond” in the Spanish language. Its name is given by blue colour that you can observe when the sun shines into its clear water.

After visiting Charco Azul you can relax on the beautiful volcanic beach of Guayedra. Because it is not possible to reach the beach by car, you will have to do another short walk of approximately 800 meters with approximately 70 meters of height difference.

Safe swimming on Guayedra beach is possible only when the tide is low. In case you wouldn´t be able to reach the beach during the low tide hours, you can still do some swimming in the natural sea water pools in Puerto de las Nieves instead.
